The School Leadership Team is a representative team of all the constituents that make up a school including administration, teachers, school staff, parents and students. These teams require parents to make up 50% of the membership. The remainder consists of teachers and other school staff with automatic representation given to the principal, UFT chapter leader, and the PTA president. In addition, 2 students are required for high schools and community members may be selected to serve on SLTs. The FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE of the School Leadership Team is to determine the schools educational direction in:
- the overall educational vision
- goals and priorities
- strategies that will be used to achieve that vision
- alignment of resources to accomplish those strategies
We meet every month of the school calendar year with main purpose of developing and implementing the school’s Comprehensive Education Plan with feedback from all constituents. We currently have thirteen members on the SLT.
