Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Education at George Westinghouse High School is designed to meet the needs of each individual student. Our school’s mission is “Every member of the staff will work together to meet the needs of all students. Our goal is to encourage and enable every student to graduate on time with viable college and career options. It is our goal to ensure that we follow that mission each day. We strive to meet this mission by ensuring that we provide a positive, supportive educational environment. It is my expectation that the staff will work together as a team with the family, school, and community to encourage and motivate all students to reach their fullest potential. It is our goal to meet the needs of all students with the use various teaching and learning strategies such as social emotional learning, Career and Technical Education, strong academics including Advanced placement courses and differentiated physical education courses. We accept the student where they are academically and social emotionally and with the help of the child’s support system at home, we will have a graduate who is ready for the next phase in their life. This graduate will be prepared to handle the rigors of college or be prepared to enter the world of work with a solid Career and Technical Education foundation. We cannot do this alone, we need the support of parents, caregivers and of course student commitment to make this mission a reality. Please support your child each day. Send them with words of encouragement and support. Check their academic progress each day. Contact your child’s teachers, guidance counselor, parent coordinator and administrator. Embark on the journey with your child. You as the parent play an important role in the development of your child. Please ensure that you are participating in the PTA, SLT or simply call us to let us know how you want to help. We are here for you and your child for the next four years and beyond.

Educationally Yours,

Joe Arzuaga
